Tired of being ruled by your emotions?

One minute you’re fully in control. Then it happens. Calm and clarity vanish. You’re triggered and suddenly you’re:

  • Snapping at someone you love.

  • Escaping into your favorite distraction.

  • Shrinking away from necessary conflict.

  • Acting out of alignment with your true self - betraying your intentions yet again.

You're not broken. Your brain just needs a new pathway.

A person walking on a road divided into two lanes labeled 'Reaction' on the left and 'Response' on the right, with stormy clouds and lightning on the reaction side and sunny clouds on the response side, symbolizing the choice between reacting and responding.

The conscious alternative.

Reaction is unconscious. Response is conscious.

When emotions hijack your mind, you act without thinking. You feel an urge → react automatically → regret it later.

Feeling → Action = REACTION

But there's an alternative:

Feeling → AWARENESS → Action = RESPONSE

Even a single moment of awareness creates the space where everything changes.

Moving from reactivity to response is simple and learnable.

The bridge between you and emotional freedom is awareness—a skill you can develop with just minutes of daily practice.

With this powerful practice, you'll:

  • Know yourself more deeply.

  • Surf big emotional waves with confidence.

  • Reclaim your personal power.

  • Build genuine emotional mastery.

If you do this practice daily, you can expect to see it working in just 3 to 5 days. The longer and more consistently you work it, the more it works. And the best part? Once obtained, emotional mastery is a kind of wealth that is yours forever. No one can take it away.

Psychedelic Preparation & Integration starts here.

This same practice forms the foundation of successful psychedelic therapy journeys. Practicing the skills in this meditation now can dramatically amplify your future therapeutic (and life) experiences.

What Clients Say

“Clay was amazing to work with. As a woman with a lot of trauma around/from men, I was hesitant to work with a man, but I was comfortable with clay from our initial meeting. He has an incredible gift for holding space for anything and everything. I felt heard and validated through every step of the practice, in part because of his ability to listen critically and say/express back to you what you were thinking in a way that facilitates growth and connection. I got so much healing and release from our work together and a lot that was because I truly felt safe and comfortable to feel and express the myriad of emotions and past experiences that came up for me. I look forward to working with Clay again as I continue on my journey.” - N, Previous Client

“The whole process was very intentional and professional. I felt really supported and really enjoyed our sessions. Incredible use of somatics, mindfulness and parts work. You are very skilled at interweaving these different modalities in a way that is flexible and most appropriate for each moment. Your knowledge and ability of somatic work especially is amazing. Your presence felt very compassionate, non-judgemental and supportive the entire ceremony. It was a very solid anchor during challenging times and gave a lot of space and safety for my process to open up.” - M, Previous Client

“Clay is totally professional, empathetic, knowledgeable, and caring. His session gave me myself back. I have seen multiple therapists and Clay is the only one that has ever proven to be of benefit.” - P, Previous Client

“If you're looking for someone to guide you through a process of introspection, help you find self-acceptance, and support you in uncovering the reasons behind self-sabotaging behaviors, look no further than Clay. He has been amazing throughout this journey, and I couldn't ask for a more compassionate and understanding person. There were moments during our work together when I felt nervous and even fearful, but Clay did an incredible job keeping me grounded and on track. I can't thank you enough, Clay, and I am very much looking forward to what the future holds!” - T, Previous Client

“You are so much more effective than my official counselor... the entire way of how I relate and function with reality is changing and most health professionals are not equipped to guide someone through that. “ - Z, Previous Client

“I highly recommend Clay to anyone looking for a transformative exploration of self and connection. I’ve engaged in different types of therapy over the years, and my experience with Clay has been and continues to be nothing less than magical. Therapy for Emotional Healing and Personal Growth

About Therapy

Why would I do this kind of self-work? Wouldn't it be easier to keep everything bottled up inside and NEVER let it out?

Well sure, but only in the short term. Choosing the way of avoidance and escape is exactly what keeps the old patterns repeating. In therapy, we do the work to…

  • Bring challenging emotions into awareness to work through them.

  • Uncover and rewrite internal rules and agreements made unconsciously.

  • Develop self-compassion and become our own greatest ally.

  • Transform internal pain into gifts.

Unlocking Emotional Growth: The Power of Therapy

Put simply, avoidance keeps things stuck.

Emotions are like messengers who knock at the door of attention. They have something important to tell us about life.

We often distract ourselves from emotions with work, screens, or other habits. But emotions don’t disappear when ignored.

They knock even louder!

If we simply refuse to open the door they will eventually begin breaking windows and tearing holes in the wall, just to get our attention. The unaddressed emotional pain turns into symptoms.

Self-doubt, unsettling dreams, relationship struggles, or feelings of overwhelm are ways that our systems let us know that something needs attention

In therapy, I help you find the courage to open the door, hear what your emotions are telling you, and integrate their wisdom into your life. Meaningful change is not only possible, it’s just waiting to happen!

Authentic healing with a therapist who walks the path alongside you.

My approach is rooted in collaboration. Just because I’ve got a long list of training and experience doesn’t mean that I know your truth better than you. I’m here to help you reconnect with the wisdom you already hold, not teach you to think like me. While my training gives me tools to guide the process, your inner truth drives the work.

In Our Sessions:

  • We’ll practice tuning into what is really happening moment by moment.

  • When avoidance creeps in, I’ll help you pause and lean into what’s being pushed away. Not to overwhelm you, but to open to what’s asking for attention.

  • When your words and body tell different stories, we’ll explore the disconnect together.

  • When self-limiting patterns emerge, I’ll help you rewrite them with curiosity, not criticism.

My style of therapy is a holistic blend of science and art within which the specific tools and methods serve as colors in a palette rather than the entire picture. I do not copy & paste. Instead, I weave threads of theory and training into a personalized and unique client experience which is adaptable and actively responsive to feedback.

At the core your innate capacity to heal is the compass. I’m here to help you trust its direction, amplify its voice, and take bold steps toward the life you’re meant to live.

You’ll leave sessions with clarity to face hard truths, courage to embrace vulnerability, and practical tools to build a life that aligns with your deepest values.

About Me

We’re not that different. I’m a human being on planet earth who is learning and growing as much as possible.

My life-long commitment to growth, healing, expression, and service came as a result of my own search for wholeness. I’m devoted to doing the work, showing up, and finding the places where I still have room to grow. I chose the path of being a therapist because I get to do my own self-work and then offer the best version of myself to clients. I love that. As Ram Dass says “I can do nothing for you but work on myself, you can do nothing for me but work on yourself.”

Because self-work is so important to being good at my job, I do my own weekly therapy, have several supervisors, sit in men’s group, and work with medicines frequently. In my free time I love to play guitar, dance, rappel through canyons, backpack, read, and write. I once lived in a van for over two years as an expression of my desire for authenticity, self-expression, and adventure.

Why help others?

As a long-time meditator, I understand that my freedom is inherently wrapped up in that of other people. For me, service to others is the path to true happiness and fulfillment. Being a therapist is an expression of that.

Education and Training

I have a Bachelors in Psychology, a Masters in Social Work, and two State licenses. I was the first person in the country to obtain the Natural Medicine Clinical Facilitator license (NMCF) in addition to being a Licensed Social Worker (LSW).

I have worked in many different settings including: a mental health crisis center, a community mental health day center, a wilderness therapy program, a substance use treatment program, a psilocybin retreat center, and an in-home psilocybin service. Now I’m in private practice. I have seen and heard a lot of intensity over the years. While I feel strong emotion, not much throws me off center.

I have been trained in some truly amazing tools and techniques for practicing therapy that I myself use on a daily basis. My clients report that they particularly value the safe, supportive environment that I create. Here, they can explore their challenges without judgment. My deep reverence for each person's inner healing intelligence guides my practice, allowing me to adapt and attune to individual needs. I offer genuine human presence and compassion alongside professional expertise.

  • Nervous system regulation and mindfulness techniques that create safety for deep exploration.

  • Parts work that helps reconcile internal conflict.

  • Body-centered practices that increase emotional intelligence and release stored trauma.
